The 2 Wheel Self Balancing Electric Scooter

With the release of the new 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter, 2015 continues to be a fantastic year for gadget fans. Worldwide, people are taking to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to create pics and vids of themselves zipping around on this 2 wheel contraption which basically looks like a board using a wheel on both sides.

A mixture of a skateboard as well as a segway, this mini Segway (with no handle) type thing is growing in popularity, fuelled partly through the volume of celebrities that have been seen on one. From Usher to Soulja Boy, Kendall Jenner to Jamie Foxx, all have tried their hand with this nifty little gadget, and appear to own were built with a lot of fun doing so.

Nicknamed the ‘swegway’ (due to it’s likeness for the Segway, however a ‘cooler’ version) nobody is sure entirely where this type of two wheel self balancing scooter descends from or who invented the very first. More than likely it descends from some factory in China. The first glimpses we were treated to of it in the media were an item known as the IO Hawk, a scooter that will set you back an astonishing $1800. This became back January of 2015. Since that time many cheaper versions the exact same product have fallen available on the market along with the average price at the moment seems to be around $500.

How does it work? Basically you ascend to both the panels and shift your body weight slightly forward or slightly back plus it senses this bodyweight change and moves backwards or forwards. This may also turn right of left. This two wheel self balancing scooter is proving to be quite popular that it is being touted since the personal mobility device into the future. Who wishes to walk when you can glide, right? Plus it’s a lot faster than walking, travelling at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.
