BlackBerry 10.2.1 introduced the opportunity to install .APK files, let’s consider app files employed in Android, straight away to your phone. This throws the doors available to purchase a wide selection of Android apps on your own BlackBerry 10 device, it could be a Z10, Q10, Q5, Z30, or another type. This used to be possible through a long, convoluted process, but it is much easier now. Basically, if you cannot locate an app in BlackBerry World, odds are there are additional sources to your favorite app.
Step 2: Get the APK file on your own BlackBerry
You can find an apk downloader on your own BlackBerry by visiting the source within your BlackBerry browser (which is the easiest option), e-mailing yourself the file, or moving the file straight from your pc for your phone by plugging them along with a USB cable.
Step three: Install the APK file out of your BlackBerry
If you downloaded the APK out of your browser, the Downloads window must have already put their hands up asking you where you want to save it along with what the filename must be; just tap the file when it’s done. When the download window isn’t there, it is easy enough to obtain support. Tap the overflow menu button inside the bottom-right (three little dots), and tap Downloads.
When the file was transferred to your phone in almost any alternative way, you’ll find it easily by tapping the magnification glass icon from the desltop in the bottom at the center and typing “.apk” inside the search box towards the top. Anything you’ve moved over should make an appearance beneath the Documents and Files result. Just tap normally the one you want to install.
Your Android app should start installing after having a short “Processing” indicator. Tap the Install button inside the top right, and tap Accept around the pop-up window which lets you know in the device permissions which are required for the app to own.
Extra information
The very first time you install an .APK, you’ll be prompted to turn off a security setting which otherwise blocks installation of these files. The prior installation screen should return which has a handy “Open” button replacing the “Install” button when it’s done. At this point, the app can make an appearance alongside all of your other apps. Just swipe around the desltop from to left a few times to discover the icon and set it in whatever folder or desltop that suits you. Hold your finger around the icon for a moment to drag it around. Something else you might like to do is hide the bar in the bottom in the screen. Just swipe down from the most notable once the app is open, and tap Hide bar.
Now, keep in mind that there isn’t any guarantees why these apps will work as advertised. BlackBerry does not run Android, it may just run Android apps. The Android app player in BlackBerry 10 is nice, and should handle nearly all of whatever you throw advertising. Test things out and tell us what’s working along with what isn’t inside the comments!
