There are the classic Who, What, When, Where and Why with this comic thriller.
The cast of characters are settling in for their new situations. They believe that nothing much must be happening to upset that world, yet, they may be surprisingly wrong.
This tale of innuendo, gossip, lies, misdirection and intrigue results in authentically as being a comedy of errors and misinformation. The premise is easy enough and merely subtle enough use a good base.
Ma Foster provides housing to be with her “girls,” Bella, Chloe and Kitty. The three in residence are missing. Ma makes a problem over it. She even goes to the neighborhood newspaper if the local police usually do not act on her fears. She does bring in the out-of-work detective, the brand new editor from the local newspaper and lastly town itself.
The central character is Henrietta, who had been named after the town involved, Henryetta, Oklahoma. Henrietta provides extensive looking for her currently, she gets gone to live in the top city, OKC, OK and landed a job with the local t.v. station. Even if this does not strengthen your journalistic career, it lets you do get her in the middle of City voice and era of your day. The typical players for Henryetta are Wynona Sue, Henrietta’s hairdresser mother stars in the “reality” show, see later. Her husband, Professor LeHough, a local bug expert is bald from a surprise shaving. Rodney, Henrietta’s boyfriend, camera man buddy and overall best friend is pulled and tugged by Henrietta and her immediate boss Miss Peg. Harold Mixon, the master and editor emeritus from the local weekly newspaper, just lately put on the internet is wanting to possess a pleasant and quiet Labor Day weekend with his friends in the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.).
The other main characters are Gigi Carpenter, a feminist reporter turned editor from the local newspaper. Max (Maximo) Morgan a would-be gum shoe private eye which has a penchant for old murder mysteries, especially Dashiel Hammet’s “Fat Man” tales. Then Deano DeBoffo since the “reality” show director wanting to shot a pilot to get a new show. Finally, Shatner Lapp, as being a newsman, publisher, editor and all-round classic boy, relates to town to help in his Princeton buddy’s newspaper problems.
Once these folks get involved with the gossip laden townsfolk, the misinformation flies. With more rumors then this facts probably warrant, these missing girls become more plus much more objects of speculation and intrigue while little or no factual information is given. The rumors start mild since the missing girls are merely searched for by Ma and Maximo.
These rumors and gossip finally lead up to a major “reporter war” between Shat and Gigi. The misinformation here becomes the avalanche cascading in the news and then the townspeople.
