Cardada Cimetta
Have you considered that above Locarno there’s a view point from which you can view simultaneously the lowest point (Lago Maggiore) along with the highest point (Dufour Peak in Monte Rosa) in Switzerland?
For the summit in the mountain, 1671 meters above sea level, a viewing platform was built which overlooks your entire region of Lake Maggiore. On the east the view stretches through the Magadino Plain to Bellinzona. To the west the vista extends over probably the most famous peaks in the Swiss Alps such as the Dufour. Towards the south, past the mountains that surround Lake Maggiore, you will see in the distance the Ligurian Apennines, located near Genoa.
Further down, a few meters out of the arrival station in the cable car a footbridge was built which winds its way across the tops of the trees from the woods below. From this unusual scenic promontory you can admire the lake, the Centovalli and areas of the Maggia Valley.
