The Poly Macau Art Auction has held again until today with the Regency Art Hotel. The kinds include Chinese and Asian Contemporary and modern Art, Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Chinese Ceramics and Art pieces along with Jewels and Prestige Collections.
Masterpieces of Chinese modern art maestros will likely be displayed to represent the most important developments of Chinese contemporary art history, including Wu Guangzhong’s “Snowscape in Beijing”, that’s estimated for sale at HKD14 million as much as HKD28 million.
Other pursuits like Chinese ceramics and art pieces, including those through the Ming and Qing Dynasties, bronzes, lacquers, Buddhism figures, and fine stationery will likely be up for auction.
A Cloisonne-Enamel Ram Vessel, Zun, estimated to become worth between HKD3.Two million to HKD4.5 million can be available for sale by interested collectors.
This can be the second Poly Macau Art Auction, following first auction organized earlier this year.
Sabrina Ho, director of Poly Macau and Stanley ho daughter and Angela Leong, declared the big event is co-organized by Poly Macau and Chiu Yeng Culture. “I hope that the number of cultural events [organized with the two companies] may bring to Macau new aspects which will allow to keep the diversification of the economy,” said Ho, who also expects that artists and art collectors worldwide is constantly support Macau being an art platform.
“We is constantly bring Macau more diversified cultural activities, and [will support] Macau to develop itself as a global art platform,” said Ho and “hopefully that Macau may become a well- known art capital in the foreseeable future.”
Regency Hotel opened in 1983 and possesses suffered from past business closures. Ho, however, wishes to transform it into an art hotel. “In Macau, there might be many resplendent big hotels, but the variety of hotels which can be employed for art as well as some creational events is, in reality, not too great,” said Ho.
