The cast of characters are settling set for their new situations. They are that nothing much needs to be happening to upset that world, yet, they may be surprisingly wrong.
This tale of innuendo, gossip, lies, misdirection and intrigue discovers authentically as a comedy of errors and misinformation. The premise is easy enough and just subtle enough to give a good base.
Ma Foster provides housing on her behalf “girls,” Bella, Chloe and Kitty. The three in residence are missing. Ma produces a huge problem over it. She even visits a nearby newspaper once the local police tend not to act on her fears. She does bring in the out-of-work detective, the brand new editor from the local newspaper and lastly the city itself.
The central character is Henrietta, who was simply named following the town in question, Henryetta, Oklahoma. Henrietta has a lot going for her currently, she has gone to live in the top city, OKC, OK and landed work with the local t.v. station. Although this will not strengthen your journalistic career, it does get her in the heart of Information and era of your day. The typical players for Henryetta are Wynona Sue, Henrietta’s hairdresser mother stars within a “reality” show, see later. Her husband, Professor LeHough, a nearby bug expert is bald from a surprise shaving. Rodney, Henrietta’s boyfriend, camera man buddy and overall best ally is pulled and tugged by Henrietta and her immediate boss Miss Peg. Harold Mixon, the master and editor emeritus from the local weekly newspaper, just lately put on the web is attempting to have a very pleasant and quiet Labor Day weekend together with his friends at the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.).
The other main characters are Gigi Carpenter, a feminist reporter turned editor from the local newspaper. Max (Maximo) Morgan a would-be gum shoe private detective with a penchant for old murder mysteries, especially Dashiel Hammet’s “Fat Man” tales. Then Deano DeBoffo because “reality” show director attempting to shot a pilot for any new show. Finally, Shatner Lapp, as a newsman, publisher, editor and all-round good old boy, comes to town to assistance with his Princeton buddy’s newspaper problems.
Once they will have a go at the gossip laden townsfolk, the misinformation flies. With increased rumors then this facts probably warrant, these missing girls become more and much more objects of speculation and intrigue while little or no factual facts are given. The rumors start mild because missing girls are just sought out by Ma and Maximo.
These rumors and gossip finally lead up to a major “reporter war” between Shat and Gigi. The misinformation here becomes the avalanche cascading in the news therefore the townspeople.
